Jean (John, Johannes) de La Flèche is first known from a charter of 1032×1052, when Agnès, wife of count Geoffroy Martel, purchased the church of Saint-Bienheuré de Vendôme from Jean's father Lancelin de Baugency, and acquired the church of Saint-Jean de Châteaudun from Jean and his brother Lancelin ["a Lancelino dominico vasso de castro Balgentiaco, ...; ... a filiis ejusdem Lancelini, scilicet Johanne et Lancelino, ..." Cart. Trinité de Vendôme, 1: 43 (#22)]. He was evidently lord of La Flèche by 1081, based on his appearance in a charter of 1060×1081: ["Johannes de Feza" Cart. S.-Aubin 1: 297 (#254)]. Jean de La Flèche was still living on 13 February 1087, when he made a donation to Saint-Aubin.

About
English (default) edit | history
Elias I (also Hélie or Élie; died 11 July 1110), called de la Flèche or de Baugency, was the Count of Maine from 1093. He was the son of the lord of La Flèche, John de Beaugency, and his wife Paula, daughter of Herbert I, Count of Maine.

In 1093, when his cousin Hugh V died, he inherited Maine. With the support of Fulk IV of Anjou, he continued the war with Robert II of Normandy. After Robert's departure with the First Crusade, Elias made peace with William Rufus, Robert's regent in Normandy.

Elias married Matilda, daughter of Gervais, Lord of Château-du-Loir. Their daughter, Eremburg, married Fulk V of Anjou. In 1109, says Orderic Vitalis, Elias remarried to Agnes, the daughter of William VIII of Aquitaine and repudiated wife of Alfonso VI of Castile. This is perhaps confused, it being suggested that the true bride was Alfonso's widow Beatrice.

Hélie (Helias) purchased the county of Maine from his cousin count Hughes V in 1092 [OV viii, 11 (vol. 4, pp. 192-9)]. His assumption of the title of count can be dated between 29 June 1092, when Hugues V was still count [Latouche (1910), 148 (#42)], and 27 July of the same year, when he subscribed a charter of Foulques IV le Réchin, count of Anjou [ibid., 149 (#43)]. Hélie obtained the lordship of Château-du-Loir on the death of his father-in-law Gervaise II, lord of Château-du-Loir. On his death in 1110, both possessions passed to his daughter Éremburge and her husband Fulk of Anjou, becoming a part of the growing Angevin holdings.

Ermengarde or Aremburge de la Flèche of Maine Erroneously connected with W Cantilupe

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ermengarde,_Countess_of_Maine

Ermengarde or Erembourg of Maine, also known as Erembourg de la Flèche (died 1126), was Countess of Maine and the Lady of Château-du-Loire from 1110 to 1126. She was the daughter of Elias (Helias) I of Maine, Count of Maine, and Mathilda of Château-du-Loire.

In 1109 she married Fulk V of Anjou, thereby finally bringing Maine under Angevin control. She gave birth to:

Geoffrey V, Count of Anjou (d. 1151)
Elias II of Maine (d. 1151)
Matilda of Anjou (d. 1154), who married William Adelin, the son and heir to Henry I of England. William was the eldest son and heir of Henry I of England and his wife Matilda of Scotland. His death and that of his brother caused a succession crisis, culminating in The Anarchy.
Sibylla of Anjou (d. 1165), married in 1121 to William Clito, and then (after an annulment in 1124) to Thierry, Count of Flanders. William Clito was the son of Robert Curthose, Duke of Normandy, by his marriage with Sibylla of Conversano. He had a claim on both Normandy and England, and became count of Flanders. Thierry of Alsace, in Flanders known as Diederik van den Elzas, was count of Flanders from 1128 to 1168. He was the youngest son of Duke Thierry II, Duke of Lorraine and Gertrude of Flanders.
She died in 1126, on either the 15th January or the 12 October. After her death, Fulk left his lands to their son Geoffrey, and set out for the Holy Land, where he married Melisende of Jerusalem and became King of Jerusalem. The Holy Land, generally refers to the geographical region of the Levant called Land of Canaan or Land of Israel in the Bible, and constitutes the Promised land.

Melisende of Jerusalem was Kingdom of Jerusalem from 1131 to 1152, and regent for her son between 1153-1161 while he was on campaign. She was the eldest daughter of King Baldwin II of Jerusalem, and the Armenian princess Morphia of Melitene.

Ermengarde or Erembourg of Maine, also known as Erembourg de la Flèche (died 1126), was Countess of Maine and the Lady of Château-du-Loir from 1110 to 1126. She was the daughter of Elias I, Count of Maine, and Mathilda of Château-du-Loire.

In 1109 she married the Angevin heir, Fulk V, called "Fulk the Younger", thereby finally bringing Maine under Angevin control. She gave birth to:
